The LWCF Program is a competitive, federal program authorized by Congress that provides funding for the acquisition or development of land for public outdoor recreation.
Permitted use of funds include the acquisition of land and waters or public access to them for recreational purposes, the development of outdoor recreation and supporting facilities, or a combination of both categories. There are two facility types: primary and supporting. Primary facilities have recreational value as stand-alone facilities. Please note, primary facilities must make up 50% or more of the total project cost.
Coastal Partnership Initiative (CPI) Program

The CPI Program is intended to help coastal communities plan and implement projects that promote sustainable use of coastal resources, improve public access to the coast, restore natural habitats, and enhance community resilience to coastal hazards. The program encourages innovative and collaborative projects that contribute to the long-term health of Florida’s coastal ecosystems and economies. Awards are a minimum of $10,000 and a maximum of $30,000 for planning, design, and coordination activities, and $60,000 for construction, restoration, and land acquisition activities.

The Bridge Investment Program (BIP) provides funding to improve existing bridges in poor condition or at risk of falling into poor condition, and to improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of the movement of people and freight over bridges.

The Continuum of Care (CoC) Program (24 CFR part 578) (the Rule) is designed to promote a community-wide commitment to the goal of ending homelessness; to provide funding for efforts to quickly rehouse individuals and families experiencing homelessness, persons fleeing or attempting to flee domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking, and youth experiencing homelessness while minimizing the trauma and dislocation caused by homelessness; to promote access to and effective utilization of mainstream programs by individuals and families experiencing homelessness; and to optimize self-sufficiency among those experiencing homelessness.

EPA is accepting applications on a rolling basis for $2 billion in Inflation Reduction Act funding available to support community-driven projects that build capacity for communities to tackle environmental and climate justice challenges, strengthen their climate resilience, and advance clean energy.
This competition is being launched in order to meet the goals and objectives of two Executive Orders: EO 14008 and EO 13985 issued by the Biden Administration that demonstrate the EPA’s and Administration’s commitment to achieving environmental justice and embedding environmental justice into Agency programs.

Drinking Water System Infrastructure Resilience and Sustainability Grant Program

Funding: $37,013,000 allocated for Florida FY2024
Under the authorization of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), the EPA established the Drinking Water System Infrastructure Resilience and Sustainability Grant Program to assist underserved, small, and disadvantaged communities for the purpose of increasing drinking water facility resilience to natural hazards. Eligible applicants include public water systems, water systems located on areas governed by Tribes, and States on behalf of underserved communities.
EPA seeks to support these communities at the drinking water system level to overcome challenges caused by operational, environmental, and financial resource issues they face. This funding aims to increase sustainability of drinking water systems throughout the country and ensure that clean drinking water is accessible to all.
Eligible projects include water conservation/water use efficiency; modification or relocation of existing drinking water system infrastructure; design or construction of desalination facilities; water supply enhancement; drinking water infrastructure resiliency measures against natural hazards; elevating, relocating, or floodproofing instrumentation; retrofitting occupied utility buildings to prevent collapse; designing new facilities, control rooms, and offices that can withstand high winds.
